Here, Eddie uses "Fire" and "Ice" as incredibly complicated metaphors for the good times (fire) and bad times (ice) that are inevitable when loving a woman. This is particularly true with a musician like Eddie Darksbane, whose extreme emotional sensitivity and musical brilliance make him all-too susceptible to being hurt and manipulated by women with evil intentions, or who are on drugs.

However, it is crucial that one does NOT mistake this sensitivity for weakness.

You disregard my suffering, all my anguish and my pain.
You'll never know the sadness that fills my soul.
I live in misery. I chase your memory every day.
You know that I am tortured by the cruel games of love you play.

Woman! Our love is like FIRE and ICE!
Woman! Our love is like rolling the dice!
Woman! Tell me once, tell me twice...
What's the cost of your love? I'll pay the price.

Girl, don't you understand?
I am an "Affliction" t-shirt-wearing man.
So go ahead and call my bluff.
Cause I'm stylish, but I'm rough.

This barbed-wire tattoo
Symbolizes the fence between me and you
So you'd better take the hint
Cause leaving you is my intent.

Meld the power of bands like Metallica with a bit of the sensitivity of bands like Nickelback.

When he met like-minded rockers Brandon, Phil, and Lars, he did more. He forged a band that rocks harder than any alloy from the steel mill.

He forged Steel Maverick.
